LATEST NEWS & MATCH REPORTS
7 Feb - United's two Under 18 teams were both in action today, the first time that has happened since 25 October. Sean Ray's senior side won 3-2 at home to Eastbourne Town, with Luke Newman scoring twice and Sam White the other. Further details The B side drew 2-2 at Pembury Athletic, thanks to goals from Greg Cummins and Michael Cane. Further details
6 Feb - A second half penalty from Sam Adams earned the U's a deserved 1-1 draw with Canvey Island at the Pilot Field this afternoon. Match report The Reserves won through to the semi-finals of the League Cup, with Joe Barham scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 win at Southwick.
5 Feb - Twenty-two year old striker Ross Treleaven has become United's fifth new signing since the turn of the year, joining the Club from Worthing today, although he also remains dually registered with Eastbourne Borough.
3 Feb - Adrian Stone scored his first goal for the Club, as United recovered from a poor start to draw 1-1 after extra time at Lewes in the Sussex Senior Cup this evening, the home side hanging on after having a man sent off in the second half. Match report The replay has been scheduled for next Tuesday, February 9th, with the usual 7.45pm kick off, when admission prices will be £7 for adults, £4 for concessions and £1 for under 18s.
2 Feb - Left sided defender or midfielder Tyrone Sterling has joined the U's from Cray Wanderers. The twenty year old featured for Cray in both games against United earlier in the season, and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's Senior Cup tie at Lewes.
1 Feb - The Supporters' Club will be staging their latest Quiz Night at the Pilot Field on Friday 5 February. The fun starts at 7.30pm, with the bar open from 7.00pm. Teams of up to four people, at a cost of £2.50 per person, are invited to help raise funds for United's floodlight appeal.
31 Jan - The Under 18s remain without a fixture since mid-December, after this morning's home league match against Uckfield Town was postponed due to a frozen playing surface. Having held second place in the Premier Division table since 31 October, the First Time slipped to third this afternoon, after Kingstonian's 2-0 win at home to Margate.
30 Jan - United endured a wasted journey to north-west London today, as their game against Hendon was postponed by the match referee little more than half an hour before kick off. At the Pilot Field, Jack Wellard scored for the second week running, as the Reserves earned a 1-1 draw at home to Whitehawk.
28 Jan - U's boss Tony Dolby has confirmed that striker turned defender Scott Ramsay has left the Club, having once again failed to command a regular First Team place at the Pilot Field this season. He is reported to have joined County League Division Two neighbours Rye United.
27 Jan - The third round Sussex Senior Cup tie at Lewes has been rearranged for Wednesday 3 February, with the winners having been drawn at home to Shoreham in the quarter finals. Please note that there will be no team coach running to the game at the Dripping Pan.
26 Jan - This evening's scheduled match at Wealdstone was postponed, as parts of the Grosvenor Vale playing surface were waterlogged. The home game against Harrow Borough, which was called off on 16 January, has been rearranged for Tuesday 2 March.
25 Jan - Sutton United F.C. have advised the Club that they are holding a Women and Girls Football Festival over the weekend of February 13th and 14th. The U's are scheduled to visit Gander Green Lane that Saturday, and Sutton have decided to offer all female supporters free entry to the game, as part of their Festival proceedings.
23 Jan - Second from bottom beat second from top this afternoon, the U's suffering their almost customary defeat at Billericay Town, beaten 2-0 by the Essex strugglers. Further details At the Pilot Field, the Reserves fared no better, losing 3-1 to Wick, with Jack Wellard scoring for United.
19 Jan - United returned to action at last, with their three new signings all involved, but hopes of League Cup progress were scuppered by a 1-0 home defeat against Croydon Athletic this evening. Further details
18 Jan - The snow has now departed, and the Pilot Field has recovered from the weekend's heavy rain, so tomorrow evening's League Cup tie at home to Croydon Athletic looks almost certain to go ahead at the fourth attempt. United will be without Greg Nessling, who suffered a broken finger in training on Saturday, and the suspended trio of Lee Carey, Michael Phillips and Ade Olorunda. The squad could feature three new faces though, with keeper Steve Williams, and striker Adrian Stone, having both signed on a dual registration basis, from Farnborough and Bromley respectively. Central midfielder Harry Pell has also joined the U's on a work experience deal from Charlton Athletic.
15 Jan - Rhys Whyborne has joined Division One South neighbours Eastbourne Town, with a view to getting some regular First Team action, having lost his place in United's starting line-up to Nathan Russell of late. As a consequence, the U's have been forced to temporarily cancel his Ryman League registration, with an official loan arrangement not possible, due to Whyborne's non-contract status.
