MANAGEMENT & BACKROOM STAFF



     Garry Wilson
     First Team Manager

 

Returned to the Club for a second spell as manager ahead of the 2015/16 season, having previously undertaken the role between March 1995 and January 1998. Thirteen months after leaving the Pilot Field, he took the helm at Eastbourne Borough, and went on to oversee their meteoric rise from County League circles to the Conference National during a hugely successful and lengthy stay at Priory Lane that only drew to a close in January 2012. A brief spell as assistant manager at Eastbourne Town followed, but he then moved on to the managerial hotseat at Lewes in May 2013, vacating that position in February 2015. Originally from Scotland, where he played as a defender for Queens Park and Stranraer, he moved to Hastings in 1988, only for his playing career to be ended by a broken leg.

 

 


     Danny Bloor
     First Team Assistant Manager

 

Accepted the role of assistant manager at the Pilot Field during the summer of 2015, once more linking up with Garry Wilson, with whom he had worked in a similar role at Lewes between May 2013 and February 2015. A former First Team boss at Burgess Hill Town and Worthing, who also managed Eastbourne Town for three and a half years before joining Wilson at the Dripping Pan.

 

 


     Ryan Light
     First Team Coach

 

Rejoined the Club as coach in December 2014, eight years since he was last involved at the Pilot Field as assistant manager. In the intervening period, he served Eastbourne Town as head coach, as well as working for Brentford as a Development Squad scout, and has also previously held manager and assistant roles with St Leonards, Rye United and Eastbourne United.

 

 


     John Masters
     Goalkeeping Coach

 

Took over the role of goalkeeping coach at the Pilot Field during the summer of 2013, having previously served the Club in assistant manager and coaching roles with the Reserves in the 2009/10 campaign. His son Clark is a former United keeper.

Now in his third season at the Pilot Field, having first signed from Eastbourne Town in the summer of 2013. Played his junior football for Brighton & Hove Albion, but joined then County League neighbours Rye United after being released by the Seagulls in 2010, and has also turned out for Sidley United.

Attacking right sided defender, who briefly first played for the Club at the start of the 2008/09 season, returning seven years on for a second stint. Has also played for Eastbourne Borough, Eastbourne United Association, Whitehawk, Eastbourne Town and Lewes.

Highly rate specialist left back who joined the Club ahead of the 2015/16 campaign from Kent County League side Hildenborough Athletic and immediately settled into the First Team squad.

Centre half or right sided full back, who moved to the Pilot Field in October 2014 from Fisher. Initially featured only for the Under 21s, but a series of impressive displays quickly saw him progress to the senior ranks.

A specialist full back, equally adept on either flank, who played his junior football for Luton Town and joined Lewes upon his release from the Kenilworth Road club. Signed for United ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Inspirational and uncompromising central defender, who first joined United in August 2004. and returned to start a third spell ahead of the 2014/15 campaign. A long time former Club captain, and voted Player of the Year by supporters on three occasions, he also served as player/manager between October 2011 and the summer of 2013, leading the Club to the third round of the FA Cup in his only full season at the helm. Has also previously featured for Rye United, St Leonards, Ashford Town, Kingstonian and Eastbourne United Association.

A former Brighton & Hove Albion junior who went on to play for Eastbourne Borough, Lewes and Chelmsford City following his release by the Seagulls. First joined United in January 2011, but returned to Priory Lane that summer and then moved on to Lewes three years later, before being tempted to return to the Pilot Field by new boss Garry Wilson ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

First joined the Club in June 2005 and has almost been a permanent fixture at the Pilot Field ever since, aside from an eighteen month spell with Rye United between August 2011 and February 2013. A hugely versatile player who has turned out for United in defence, midfield, attack and even as an emergency goalkeeper on a few occasions.

One of Garry Wilson's first summer signings when he joined the Club from Lewes. Started his career as a left back with Hailsham Town and Rye United, before spending three seasons at Eastbourne Borough during their time in the Conference National. Moved on to the Dripping Pan in 2014 and then to the Pilot Field twelve months later, where he quickly settled into a role on the left wing.

Nigerian born right sided midfielder who joined the Club at the start of the 2015/16 campaign after a highly successful pre-season trial period. Began his senior career at Maidstone United as a seventeen year old, and has also featured for VCD Athletic and Sittingbourne. Has most recently spent six months playing for Shabab Al-Ghazieh in the Lebenese Premier Division.

First played for the Club as a junior, before being snapped up by Brighton & Hove Albion at aged fourteen. Won a scholarship deal a couple of years later, but was released without being offered a professional contract and rejoined the U's ahead of the 2012/13 campaign. Now back for a third spell, having also played for Lewes and Horsham.

Combative central midfielder who returned to the Club for a second spell ahead of the 2015/16 season and was installed as captain by new boss Garry Wilson. A product of the Lewes youth system, who made his senior debut at the Dripping Pan in their 2009/10 Conference National campaign, he had a brief stint at the Pilot Field two years later before rejoining the Rooks once again.

One of the U's keynote signings ahead of the 2015/16 season, when he returned to the Club from Margate to start a third spell at the Pilot Field. A former Eastbourne Borough junior, who has also featured for Bognor Regis Town, Histon, Welling United and Maidstone United, and played a vital role in the United side that reached the third round of the FA Cup in 2013.

Free scoring centre forward who joined the Club from Faversham Town during the summer of 2015 and scored a hat-trick on his league debut. First made his name at Tunbridge Wells for whom he appeared in the 2013 FA Vase final at Wembley. Moved to Maidstone United in October 2013, before signing for Faversham after a successful initial loan spell.
