Hastings United FC Youth Section granted FA Charter Standard
Hastings United FC Youth are pleased to have Charter Standard status granted by the FA. Everyone at the Club is rightly proud of this achievement. It came as a direct result of a lot of very hard work over a short space of time as the Club was only launched as the youth set-up for Hastings United at the beginning of the 2004/05 season. This award can hopefully turn Hastings United into a footballing centre of excellence, which will allow children to progress into the senior sides.
What does Charter Standard mean?
The F.A. Charter Standard Clubs' programme, supported by F.A. Community Partner McDonalds, was launched in February 2001 and is a core component of The F.A. Football Development programme. The project is aimed at boys and girls under sixteen years of age and will help children and parents find a club, in their local area, that meets F.A. standards. The project is at the heart of The Football Association’s investment programme for grassroots football, to improve facilities and coaching across the country.
Criteria
The F.A., in conjunction with various bodies, has drawn up the following set of criteria for clubs wishing to reach Charter Standard status:
• A written constitution • Self-certified screening of managers, coaches and officials • All managers to have minimum of F.A. Junior Team Managers Award. • Commitment to attend in-service training • Acceptance and promotion of codes of conduct • Commitment to provide Mini-Soccer opportunities for Under 10s • Commitment to promote schools liaison and equal opportunities for all
Benefits
Clubs that are successful in achieving the Charter will get access to the following range of benefits:
• Use of Charter Standard crest • Exclusive regional workshops • Access to child protection training • Kit and equipment grants - national and regional awards • Subsidies for F.A. junior team managers and other courses • Certificates • Starter Pack, including posters, codes of conduct and certificates • First aid kit
In addition to the above, all children that play for Hastings United Youth get the following benefits:
1. Each child is part of the most senior football club in the Hastings & St Leonards area. Having started with the Under 7s, each child could, with dedication and talent, end up playing for the senior side.
2. Every child has a membership card, which allows them free access to the Pilot Field to see all of the senior team's league fixtures.
3. A Hastings United FC Youth membership card allows the holder a 10% discount at Wisdens Sports shop in Trinity Square.
4. Youth teams are able to be ball retrievers at home First Team games.
5. All team managers are F.A. qualified.
6. Every child is covered by Youth Team accidental insurance cover.
7. The entire Youth section is covered for third party liability.
The Youth Teams are always on the look-out for new players (boys and girls) and coaches. For more information, please contact the relevant Youth Team manager for more details. Just click on the appropriate age group above for specific contact details, news, fixtures and results for each team.
