7 Jly - Sam Adams' future as a United player, which had appeared secure only last week, now seems uncertain once again, with the striker still keen to pursue a move to Ashford Town after all. The Football Association has confirmed that a tribunal cannot be convened to determine an appropriate transfer fee, so negotiations will continue between the two clubs and Sam himself in due course.
2 Jly - After several weeks supposedly spent awaiting a tribunal decision on Sam Adams' proposed transfer to Ashford Town, the Club was surprised to receive what it considered to be an utterly derisory £600 bid from the Kent side, for a player whom United value much more highly. Having summarily rejected the offer, the Club is delighted to confirm that Sam is now committed to staying at the Pilot Field for the 2008/09 season, where he remains.on contract for a further year.
1 Jly - The draws for the early rounds of the FA competitions were announced today. United face their perennial tough test in the FA Cup, having been drawn away to Dartford in the first qualifying round on 13 September, with Carshalton Athletic due to visit the Pilot Field in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy on 18 October. Meanwhile, the Under 18s will travel to either Ringmer or Margate in the first qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup on a date to be arranged.
